Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology within the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is widely praised as the pioneer of modern research of the eyewitness memory of children and using child victims to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer who has received several prizes and grants. She consults with numerous governments and agencies across the globe regarding policy and the research of child abuse in the justice system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is also a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 55). Professor Goodman is part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding Member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has served as president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division, as well as three Divisions: Children and Families Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
